Introduction to Boys Football

Our Boys junior football accommodates children of ages U4 through to U18.

Teams play in local grassroots leagues from the age of U7 (School Year 2) with development training available for U4-U6 age groups (Pre-reception to Year 1).

Our development training is run by club coaches after which players progress into teams for U7 age groups.

Coaches for teams are all volunteer parents – all supported by the club to gain necessary and desired coaching requirements.

The aim is for every team representing Guiseley Juniors to have a minimum of one coach with the following qualifications:-

  • FA Level 1 coaching qualification (or above)
  • FA Accepted Enhanced CRC check;
  • FA Emergency Aid qualification; and
  • FA Safeguarding Children qualification

In addition, all other coaches associated with training or matches for any team must have a minimum of an enhanced CRC check.

Training for teams is across different slots/times during the week depending on age group.

Matches are typically played on Sunday mornings with teams playing in local grassroots leagues – this would usually be the Craven, Aire & Wharfedale Junior League or Harrogate & District Junior League.

All abilities are catered for within the leagues, allowing the club to find a suitable level so that all children can enjoy their football.
