Under 7 Blues v Burley Rangers – 7th October 2012

The boys gave another spectacular performance against Burley Rangers in their first home game of the Season.  All the boys contributed to a spirited demonstration of under 7 football at its best.

The keepers for the day, Sam L, Ben and Charlie had little to do as James kept the opposition from taking too many expeditions into the home side’s territory.  Sam remained composed in goal and kept a clean sheet and quickly distributed the ball to James to pass down the line to Charlie.  Ben and Charlie also kept clean sheets (I don’t think Charlie had to touch the ball).  Harry in midfield and up front continued his great start to the season with a couple of great goals and got stuck in and won the ball and showed great skills.  Sam L topped his great goal keeping efforts with a nice goal.  Daniyal concentrated well and was rewarded with a great goal and a good near miss effort.  Mason continues his strong, but fair, tackling and this week was rewarded with a couple of well finished goals.  Samuel S is proving to be a great striker and he gets in the right place at the right time and topped last week’s efforts with a well deserved hat-trick. The crowd went wild when Ben fired home a long awaited and well deserved goal, having had an earlier attempt nabbed off the line.  This goal was always going to come after all the hard work and strong runs Ben made throughout the game.  Charlie had a fantastic game and blasted home 3 right footed screamers and flicked home the first headed goal of the season from a well placed throw-in from James.  Charlie delivered some wonderful runs down the right and delivered some inch perfect crosses to the strikers.  With two minutes to go, James switched his position and played up front and had a couple of great runs at goal, but was ultimately denied a goal by Burley’s brave keeper who saved a lot of shots on target throughout the match.

Overall, another superb performance from the boys in a match well refereed by Ian (Is this what you asked me to write Ian?).  Craig remembered his breathing exercises this week and kept cool.  Looking forward to next week’s trip to Calverley.
