U9 WHITES REACH ANOTHER FINAL (17/4/15)

The Whites Tour of Yorkshire continued as they attended the Tadcaster Albion Tournament.
The Whites first game was against our host Tadcaster Blue. The boys started the match a lot better than Tadcaster to forge a 4-nil lead with goals from Max & Thomas (3).Tadcaster scored a conciliation goal near the end of the game.
The Whites second game was vs Haxby A. The Whites started the game well, but Haxby scored a well taken goal. The boys continued to pass the ball well and were rewarded with 2 goals from Thomas to win the game.
The third game brought the whites against Wheldrake. The boys found this game the toughest so far a very tight game was decided by a single goal that was scored by Thomas.
The forth match was another tight match against Bishopthorpe WR Purple. The Whites past the ball well but Bishopthorpes goal keeper was in fine form, the boy’s patience paid off with a well taken goal from Gene to win the match.
Our fifth and final game of the group stages came against Garforth Villa Blue. Garforth started the game well and took the lead but the Whites came back strong and got a well deserved equalizer by Archie to keep the Whites unbeaten finishing top of the group.
The quarter final brought the whites up against Welldrake again, Welldrake started the game well and scored an opening goal and the whites took control of the game after falling behind and won the game with 2 goals from Liam and Archie.
The Semi final against West End brought a great team performance, the Whites dominating from the off, 2 great goals from Thomas and Liam sent the boys into the final.
In the final the Whites faced our friends Collingham A, the Whites started well and hit the woodwork 3 times in the first 5 minutes, the boys went behind to an unlucky own goal, in the second half the whites pushed up to try and get an equalizer and were unlucky not to score.
Collingham managed to clinch the trophy with a late minute goal to win the match.

Even though the Whites lost the final parents and coaches were very proud of the performances throughout – playing 8 matches, winning 6, drawing 1 and only losing 1 (the final).
