U7s Yellows v Eldwick ‘B’ – 21 October

U7s Yellows v Eldwick ‘B’ – 21 October

An autumnal Sunday morning, a sticky pitch and a few odd goals.

Eldwick were the visitors to Shaw Lane Stadium this week, where a large vociferous crowd gathered to witness a game of two halves; one half was twenty minutes and the other half, also twenty minutes. All the boys gave 110% today and it was a great advert for the game. The game certainly needed a goal, which duly arrived within a minute or two of the start, shortly after the boys had worked their socks off.

Sorry.. I thought I’d try my hand at some cliches. Maybe The Sun will come calling with the offer of a premier league reporting role…

Okay, one a more serious note.

The boys played well again today but still a little short of their best form. There were goals from most of the players today, Niall notched his usual hat-trick, Lennon was back amongst it with a hat-trick and Charlie too nicked a few. Some of the goals were very bizarre but they all count.

But, the M.O.M. for me (and Jim and the parents) was Harvey. He scored two goals, one of them a real beauty (especially from a coaches point of view) and his all round display was his best yet. He has really come on in the past few weeks and his concentration in training is helping his game hugely. More of the same please Harvey.

Well done again boys. Local Derby next up!!
