A nice day for football weather wise after all the rain we’ve had.
All the players, with the exception of Luke S, played out of their usual position today for most of the game, interesting day!
It took a while to get going with the players not doing their usual jobs but Guiseley were in complete control from the start and Declan opened the scoring on 11 minutes.
Declan doubled Yellow’s lead after 16 minutes and then the boys missed a few chances until Matthew scored on 30 minutes.
The second half started and Declan soon had his hat trick on 34 minutes. Guiseley had most of the ball for most of the game.
Tom scored a lovely goal on 44 minutes with a trade mark Tom run and rocket shot.
2 minutes later and Jamie fired home and celebrated in his usual way, funny how Declan doesn’t jump into him when Jamie scores!
Declan was at it again on 50 minutes, his fourth of the game, Guiseley thought that was that. But, Temple never stopped and after missing a penalty earlier, they had another on 53 minutes when Matthew scooped a Temple player into the air! They scored and with our makeshift defence half asleep on 58 minutes, Temple put a ball over the top and finished really well.
So the game ended 7-2, Guiseley again could have had double figures but not to be.
Nearly all the players were not in their usual positions today, but still there were some great possession and play at times, commitment and will to win the ball and play, can’t ask for any more on a day like today. Excellent footwork from Fred, Tom, Arjan, Jamie, Sam. Great strength from Robert, Matthew, Declan, Josh. Great teamwork from Eathan, Jake, Alex. Great keeping as usual from Luke S.
It will be a different challenge for the next game, back to what we know and do best.
