Although we warmed up this summer by attending the Carlton Tournament and playing our U10s, our first game of the season was at home this morning to Norristhorpe B.
After a sleepy start the girls did well first half despite some key players unavailable.
The second half, as planned saw some girls swapping their usual positions for unfamiliar roles – Abi and Lizzie as strikers, Sylvie and Siena in defense. If nothing else it proved why a number of the girls now have primary positions but it was all good experience!
Siena had a busy morning grabbing 3 goals, a subdued Mia scoring 2 (didn’t know at the time but she came down with illness as the day went on), and Sylvie got one too.
GIRL OF THE GAME – ABI Maybe she rose to the roll as captain for the day? Abi chased the ball like a terrier and did much of the midfield work as well as her defensive duties 1st half.
As striker 2nd half she could have scored a couple too.
