Building on the excellent response at our last club CPD event back in April, I have once again worked with Steve Dorey, WRCFA development officer to secure another local CPD event specifically for our club. I know this is something many of you have expressed an interest in as it is not always the easiest to get to WRCFA CPD events held across other parts of the County.
I’m therefore trying to rekindle and sustain more local CPD events specifically for our club. We’re hoping to put on three club-specific learning events this season but this is as always dependent upon response and interest. My thanks to the U12 Girls & coaching team who have kindly volunteered their players to work with on this occasion.
(N.B. I would very much like to look at working with an older age group (14+) for our next event post Xmas and then hopefully finish the three CPD events into Spring with a look at the younger end (7-11). So please drop me a line if you would kindly volunteer your group of players to work with….)
Please find details below:
Guiseley Juniors Coaches CPD Event
DATE: Fri 24th Nov 2017
VENUE: St Mary’s School All Weather Pitch
TIMINGS: 6-8pm (6pm prompt start; 6-7pm PRACTICAL WORKSHOP; 7-8pm classroom based theory + General Q&A)
CPD: 2 hours accredited CPD
Session Focus: TBD (we are trying to ensure it appeals to as many of you irrespective of age group you work with, boys or girls and that everyone attending can take something away to apply).
Players: U12 Girls (the players will be working with the WRCFA Skills team coaches who are keen to run this in no different a way to any of the normal challenges we all face, e.g. limited time, confined spaces, large/varied no. of players, varying ability etc.)
We continue to ensure we tailor and meet as many of your interests and coaching needs as practically possible. I am also keen as many take advantage of this as possible given we are the hosts and the venue so local – as such there is a minimum requirement of c.20 attendees to make this workshop viable. I appreciate that certain days of the week and timings are easier than others however we are never going to get a date and time that suits everyone, hence we’ve decided to be led by the WRCFA coaching team. With a decent lead in time and heads up we hope that will maximise a strong attendance. This is also a nice opportunity to get together with other like-minded coaches and build up a wider network and connection across the club.
My ask is that if you could kindly please rsvp to confirm your attendance – we are giving the initial interest and heads-up to Guiseley Juniors only, however we will be extending the invite out to our partner club Menston Juniors shortly thereafter. I hope as many of you can show willing to support this event and we can demonstrate a strong commitment and interest as a club to continue to improve and learn as coaches for the benefit of our young players.
If we expect our players to be good learners, then surely so must we be…
