We hosted Sutton expecting a tough close game after our early season 4-3 success in which we called on all our strengths and reserves. Without Dan and Tom, Matthew partnered Joel in Midfield with Messi Bolton on the right, Oliver Meskill on the left, Bolan up top and the ever dependable Luke, Dylan and Max at the back.
After a scrappy opening we started to dominate and create chances with both Olivers powering down there wings. Both going close and Bolan bringing the best out of the Sutton Keeper. It was looking like a frustrating first half again until 3 quick fire goals did our play justice, 2 great finishes from Bolan and predatory strike from Joel. We continued to pepper the goal and it needed strong defending and brave goal keeping to keep the score at 3-0 half time.
Second half saw Callum back to his usual berth on the left up and down the wing and linking well with the midfielders to create chances and stop Sutton attacking on his watch. Oliver Bolton was running riot on the right mesmerising the opposition , the coaches and had the crowd cheering every time he picked the ball up and beat the defence with amazing speed and close control. How he didnt score nobody knows but 5 assists ! WOW !! The goals came at regular intervals as Bolan completed his hat trick, Joel added his second a crazy own goal and the brilliant Matthew jinked his way through the Sutton half and walked the ball into the net. Luke was having a quiet game in goal but was on his toes when needed and his distribution to start attacks is a real weapon to us now. Max and Dylan tackled hard when needed and Max seems to have found his inner strength and really bossed the Sutton attackers out of the game. Joel hit the crossbar with a free kick and numerous chances came and went as the game drew on.
The final score of 7-0 was well deserved and credit to Sutton who never gave up, specially the keeper. Our boys deserve amazing credit for how they have played so far this season, training hard and bringing that to the games, some great individuals and now a really good. Well done boys, every one of you. All parents and myself are really proud of our team.
