Match Report: Beckwithshaw v Guiseley U15 Whites – Sunday 14 October

We knew it would be a tough match against Beckwithshaw it always is as both teams have the skills, stamina and determination to want to win.

Guiseley U15s did just that from the whistle the boys battled, fought and defended well it was a very even game. Guiseley nearly went one goal down from a good effort from Beckwithshaw but the ball hit the crossbar.  Even though our regular keeper Alec wasn’t there that did not stop some quality saving from our temporary goal keeper of the day Tom Brady.  He showed calmness and confidence in the net and saved some great balls.  Dan Western, captain, defended excellently ensuring the defence gave nothing away to Beckwithshaw.  By the end of half time the game was tied at 0-0.

Both teams came out the second half still with the same determination and drive they had shown in the first half.  Unfortunately for our Guiseley boys Beckwithshaw scored a good goal bringing them into the lead.  Even though our boys fought back and never gave up until the whistle blew they were unable to score.  Bringing the final result to 1-0.

The boys battled really hard and in all honesty it deserved to be a draw but unfortunately it was not to be on this occasion.  Well done lads great effort, determination and teamwork.  It was a very enjoyable game to watch.
