Kippax 2 – 2 Guiseley Yellow

Kippax 2 – 2 Guiseley Yellow

An evening kick off down at Kippax, lovely evening for football.

Guiseley started and played the first half with 10 men when a couple of the team were late after being taken round the houses by their Dad, you know who you are!!

The lads started well but the man down told when Kippax made the breakthrough on 11 minutes. They scored again on 26 minutes and it didn’t look good for Guiseley.

We had a full team in the second half and the boys lifted their heads and started playing some good football.

14 minutes into the second half Guiseley got the free kick and Declan made the choice who should take it, Stephen was chosen but after some debate he walked away. We must listen to what the captain says on the pitch guys, Declan stepped up as the captain and took it himself in the end. It was a lovely free kick just outside the box, and produced the goal the team deserved.

After a clever knock on by Ethan, Stephen was onto the ball and chipped the keeper to make the scores level. Great goal.

Guiseley played some nice team football at times, the type of football we know they can play.

Working hard as a player, unit and team is what we need, that second half performance was all that. Jake heading the ball, Alex tackling, Arjan taking one for the team!

Great stuff guys, it felt like a win to me.Great effort and determination, especially in the second half. I know you were up against it in the first half.

Team: Luke, Robert, Matthew, Arjan, Jake, Fred, Alex, Tom, Declan, Stephen, Ethan, Sam.

Goals: Declan, Stephen.

Man of the Match: Luke, commanding, strong, great overall performance. Its a massive improvement Luke, keep it up.

Thanks to Carl for running the line.

Thanks to all the parents for getting there tonight, it was far to travel.

Training Friday 7-8pm. Home game, meeting at 10am.
