Guiseley Yellows 12 – 2 Horsforth Broncos (U9)

Guiseley Yellows 12 – 2 Horsforth Broncos (U9)

Last Sunday we visited Horsforth who last season were very much our bogey side. We knew that we had to make a good start as Horsforth always prove to be tough opposition.

For some reason we have a problem getting out of the blocks quickly, and for the second week in succession we found ourselves a goal down within a couple of minutes as the Horsforth forward found it way too easy and beat a static defence & rounded Josh to put the ball into an empty net.

The boys reaction from that point was fantastic, and they quickly took a grip on the game, with some slick passing and we were quickly rewarded with tidy finishes from Charlie, Joseph (2) an OG, and Charlie again who continued his good goal scoring form.

The second half was a case of more Guiseley dominance. Josh & Fin who shared duties in goal were both very impressive (and got a special mention from the Horsforth manager!) and Oliver & Will who were strong at the back, and the midfield trio of Joseph, Jaiden & Taylor supported Charlie well. With Niall making a brief appearance only for him having to come off due to illness.

Our passing game really went up a couple of gears in the second half and the boys were rewarded with Charlie bagging another couple of goals, and his tally of 4 was matched by Taylor whose partnership with Charlie up front in the second half was good to see. Captain Oliver rounded off a hugely impressive away victory with a trademark spectacular finish.

The supporters/parents MOM was another close one this week and by only one vote meant Charlie taking the trophy. A big well done to him, But credit to all of the boys they have really gelled as a team, and they are playing exciting, attacking football. Lets keep it up boys!

This Sunday we are home to Keighley Shamrocks Crusaders….

Well done to all the boys so far this season, it’s been great watching them gel as a team and their passing game is getting better with every game. Credit for that must go to Craig and Ian so well done fellas. A special mention from me must go to Jaiden who I think has to be one of the most improved players we have. Keep up the good work Rio!

It`s been very exciting the last couple of weeks watching the boys. They are at their best when they pass the ball around and its a great credit to Craig the way they play. The team spirit and hard work the boys put in are getting the results they deserve.
Looking forward to Sunday & the visit by Keighley. Hope to see a good turn out and the support the boys deserve.
