Guiseley Whites U7 v Leeds Maccabi A (9/12/12)

At last the weather was kinder to the boys, with the last two games called off for a waterlogged pitch & a frozen pitch the week after the boys enjoyed some December sunshine.

The team have had a couple of weeks to improve on the passing game that the whites seem to play very well. They started quickly with Thomas getting a quick double in the first 5 minutes, then Patrick the newest signing for the whites slotted home a fine goal. Sam’s hard work started to pay off as he found the corner with a well taken goal. Ever improving Patrick found the net again and all that happened in the first 10 minutes.

The second quarter started with Maccabi getting a quick goal back but the passing by the whites enabled Patrick to score another 2 goals. Maccabi played well in the second quarter and scored again but that seemed to make the whites step up another gear.

In the third quarter shots rained in from all angles but Maccabi hit back with a breakaway goal, but the passing game the boys know so well took it’s toll on Maccabi with Liam and Jack scoring a goal each to cap a  very enjoyable third quarter, but if you thought it could’nt get any better the fourth was the best they have played all season.

In the forth quarter what would of been the goal of the season if it had gone in, Archie in goal passing the ball to Sam with a quick pass to Thomas who crossed for Patrick to hit the ball first time just wide (the movement was fantastic). The fourth quarter was such a joy to watch with Thomas scoring another 4 and Sam getting 3 more. The whole team played very well.

Man of the match:- Patrick

Patrick is improving with every game and training session. His ability to dribble past the opposition is enabling others and himself to have a shot at goal.

Trainer of the week:- Thomas
