Guiseley Smash Queensbury for Six

Guiseley Girls Blue’s got off to a flying start in their first game of the season against Queensbury.

It took just 8 minutes for Guiseley to get their first goal of the campaign, Olivia with a cracking effort  from inside the box. Guiseley were dominant and looking strong in the attack with Shona finding space throughout the middle of the park and it was on 26 minutes Shona got Guiseley’s 2nd. Minutes later it was Louise’s turn to score on her league debut for Guiseley against former club Queensbury, a good strike after good sustained pressure from Guiseley. Guiseley’s defence and keeper were rarely troubled but on 34 minutes Queensbury got one back after a good counter. Four minutes later though Katie scored to increase Guiseley’s lead. with the score at 4-1 Guiseley didn’t drop the pace and looked dangerous in every attack and it was on 51 minutes Shona got her brace, again excellent attacking leading to a goal. Moments later Helen scored a fantastic volley which is already in contention for goal of the season, a brilliant chip leaving the keeper with no chance. Final score 6-1

Overall a fantastic start to the season with all the girls playing well
