Guiseley Greens V BD7 Under 11’s

Guiseley Greens 14 – BD7 0

Great result for Gusieley who played some excellent football from kick off right the way through to the final whistle.

Guiseley pressed up on BD7’s goal kicks and took early advantage with Joseph’s striking the ball first time to make it 1 – 0. Guiseley grabbed a quick 2nd when a further goal kick went straight to Theo who cooly finished to make it 2 – 0. Our third came from excellent play by Tom R down the left hand side who had a great shot on goal which looped up and was parried by the goalie for Theo to nick in and score his 2nd of the game. Guiseley’s 4th came from an excellent piece of work by Oliver finished with a good low shot. Our 5th came from a good solo run from Myles who followed up his shot to knock in the rebound. Theo followed up quickly with a further solo effort to make it 6 Nil, and some fantastic interplay between Theo and Joseph for Joseph to fire in his second of the game.By far our best piece of play in the first half brought about our 8th goal which was cooly finished of by bending into the top right hand corner by Joseph. Great goal and the end to an excellent first half by all the lads, solid in defence as ever, Max, James, Damian and Nima well played. Lets not forget Josh in goal who did not put a foot wrong.

BD7 came out in the 2nd half with the wind in their sales and gave us more to think about, pressing down the left wing, which took us a while to adapt to. Once we had got the meassure of them we got the ball down and started to play as we should, playing through the wings when in possession and keeping it compact when defending.

Our first of the second half came again through great play between Oliver and Joseph down the right wing and Joseph putting a cross into the box for Theo to nod home making it 9 Nil. Straight from the kick off Oliver grabbed the ball and sent a first time shot in to make it 10 Nil. Our 11th came again straight from the kick off with Theo being played through to casually finish in the left hand corner. Oliver made it 12 Nil with a shot from out wide and Number 13 came from a great cross by Myles to be finished off by Tom R. Our final goal came from a period of strong play by Guiseley with Myles finishing as a result of a quickly taken throw in. Thankyou to Nima for taking a turn in goal to give Josh a go out as striker, nearly bagged a couple!!

I think you will all agree a great game by Greens today, from our solid defence who gave the team the confidence to play and score so many goals, to the midfield who pressed and closed the opposition to get the ball back quickly to the attackers who finished excellently, a great result Well Done lads. I would also like to congratulate BD7 who battled right the way to the final whistle and played with great sportsmanship.

Goals: Theo 5, Oliver 3, Myles 2, Joseph 3, Tom R 1.

Man of the Match: Joseph – energy and commitment and great wing play.
