Guiseley were looking to continue their 100% record against Goole. The first 10 minutes of the game was played in the middle of the park with both teams trying to control the game. Goole looked lively and on 11 minutes struck the crossbar. Goole were pressing and good defending by Guiseley and strong keeping by Georgia kept the score 0-0. On 17 minutes Guiseley had a corner which saw Del volley the ball just wide. Minutes later it was Del again who after some great play slipped the ball to Shona who’s effort was just wide.
Minutes into the second half saw a big shout from Guiseley for a handball in the area but the ref waved away the protest. It was end to end stuff and Georgia made a superb save to keep a clean sheet. Great play between Del and Katie saw the Goole keeper save Katies efforts – goal line technology was needed though as there was a good chance the ball was over the line. Guiseley felt hard done by with the penalty decision and the Goal that never was and stepped up a gear. As the game was coming to an end it was Del who had looked dangerous all game who skill took her part the defender and fired into the net. Moments later Katie hit the post. Goole came back strong and had a corner in the dying minutes of the game but strong defending by Ellen saw the game out.
