Defending Champions Guiseley Girl Blues (u13’s) start the season with a 5-0 win over Garforth.

Guiseley had been busy in the transfer market this season and welcomes the new Girls:- Jess, Jazz and Ebony.

Within the opening 5 minutes Jess came close to opening the scoring on her league debut for Guiseley. Garforth bounced back and had 3 corners in quick succession which kept Guiseley on their toes. Guiseley fought back and on 9 minutes it was Jess again who came close, hitting the crossbar after the Garforth keeper gifted her the ball. 6 minutes later Jess had a goal disallowed due to apparent use of her hand. Guiseley were looking strong and sustained pressure by the girls saw Shona and Ebony go close. Guiseley were finding their touch and with their one touch passing it was only a matter of time before they scored. Ebony and Jess were linking well and a great passing move between the two bought a fine save by the Garforth keeper to keep the score in the first half at 0-0.
The second half saw the introduction of Katie and Lilly who made an instant impact. Katie came close from the kick-off but shot was just wide. The resulting goal kick found the Garforth keepers kick land in front of Jess who hit the ball in the back of the net. A great effort and her first goal for Guiseley. 1-0. Ten minutes later Ebony scored her debut goal, a great lob which left the keeper with no chance. Two minutes later Katie deservedly scored to take the score to 3-0. Guiseley were in cruise control. Lilly looked dangerous and played some good attacking football. On 59 Del’s long range effort fired past the keeper to make it 4-0 followed by (Girl of the Match) Ebony grabbing her second, a text book goal which started in defence, to midfield, to Ebony blasting home.

A great 5-0 winning start to the 2013/14 campaign. Well done to all the girls.
