Craven League League Re-adjustments

As we have said previously, trying to ensure that all sections are made up of teams with equal ability and stage of development is a difficult job. We don’t always get it right and can’t always please everyone, but we do our best to achieve these.

It is clear some teams are in the wrong section so rather than leave things as they currently are until Christmas, we feel a re-assessment is needed sooner rather than later. We have decided therefore that games scheduled for Sunday 5 October will be the last ones of the current round of matches.

The Fixture Secretary will then look carefully at all the results and move those teams that need to be moved. As part of this exercise the number of teams in a section will be reduced to no more than 7 and the number of sections per age group increased where necessary.

Sunday 12 October

In order to give the Fixture Secretary sufficient time to make the changes and draw up a new set of fixtures, there will be no league matches scheduled for Sunday 12 October, but if any teams would like to arrange a ‘friendly’ that isn’t a problem.

The new sections/fixtures will take effect from Sunday 19 October.

There will be no league fixtures scheduled for Sunday 26 October due to half term, but if any teams would like to re-arrange a league fixture for this date, that isn’t a problem, providing they let the Fixture Secretary know beforehand.

The fixtures between Sunday 2 November and Sunday 14 December are subject to change in order to accommodate a ‘Trophy Event’ we are hoping to organise for all age groups and some U7’s/U8’s taking part in the November Tournament organised by Goals.

Where there are no scheduled League fixtures, the League are happy to let teams arrange their own ‘friendly matches’ on these dates.
