Calverley Away – Match Report

Calverley Away – Match Report

NEW for this season I will attempt to capture a summary of the games we play.  I hope you will find it a good read and please share it with the team.

Well, first game of the season today and our hosts were Calverley.

Good conditions, and a good pitch to play on lead to an entertaining game with both sides showing good commitment throughout the game.  I was really pleased how all the team performed and proud of the manner in which they played.

From the back Joseph made a solid return in goal underlined by a fantastic diving save.  Our two defenders, Louis and Harry, made a great partnership working together in protecting the goal from the opposition attackers and supplying our midfielders with good passes to help build new attacks.

Our midfield and attacking team worked tirelessly at getting forward and created an endless number of chances at goal.  The boys stuck well to their positions and this helped when passing the ball around the opposition making the football a real pleasure to watch.  Well done to all four boys that played in these positions, (Billy, Eddie, Ewan and Jozef), and congratulations on the goals they all scored today.

Lastly, a final note on our Captain today.  Harry was chosen by the coaches for the effort shown in the previous Monday night training.  Upon taking on this responsibility he set a good example to all his team especially in his composure at the back when controlling and passing the ball.  Well done Harry I look forward to this effort continuing throughout the season.

Well done to the team once again and now looking forward to the same again when playing Thackley on Sunday.

Chris
